RankLiftPrivacy Policy

This policy explains what data the RankLift app and this website process, why, and what rights you have. It applies to the RankLift mobile app (package com.ranklift.app) and to getranklift.com.

2. Data we process

Body, training and nutrition data can reveal information about your health. We process it only because you enter it and only to provide the functions described above.
3. What other users can see
Leagues and leaderboards show your username, avatar, country, ranks and league points to other users. Your email address, body weight, age, height, nutrition diary and notes are never shown to other users.
4. Camera
The app asks for camera access only when you use the barcode scanner. The camera image is read on your device to recognise the barcode. The scanner does not store or send photos or videos. Photos are only uploaded when you choose to add a picture to one of your own foods.
5. Food search
When you search for a food or scan a barcode, the search term or barcode number is sent to public food databases: USDA FoodData Central (U.S. Department of Agriculture) and Open Food Facts (Open Food Facts association, France). These services receive the request and your IP address. They do not receive your account or your diary.

These providers process data on our behalf under data processing agreements. Where data is transferred to the USA, the transfer is based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or on the EU standard contractual clauses.
7. What we do not do
- We do not show advertising.
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not use advertising or tracking tools in the app or on this website.
8. Legal bases (GDPR)
- Contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR): account, profile, training and nutrition functions.
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) and Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR): body data and other health-related data you enter, and camera access. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting the data or your account.
- Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): keeping the service secure and answering your messages.
9. How long we keep data
We keep your data for as long as you have an account. When you delete your account, your profile and all training, nutrition and body data are deleted. Backups held by our providers are overwritten within 30 days. Details: Delete your account.
10. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete and export your data, to restrict or object to processing, and to withdraw consent. Write to support@getranklift.com. You can also complain to a data protection authority, for example the one in your place of residence.
11. Children
RankLift is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you are between 13 and 15, or younger than the age at which you can consent to data processing in your country, you may only use RankLift with the permission of a parent or guardian. Parents who believe their child has created an account without permission can contact us and we will delete it.
12. This website
This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics. When you open it, the hosting provider processes technical data such as your IP address, time of access and browser type in order to deliver the page and protect it against attacks.
13. Changes
We update this policy when the app changes. The date at the top shows the current version. We announce important changes in the app.
